Here's a detail from street smarts, in progress.

Studio climate control issues fixed, I have an AC. It barely keeps up with the heat, with the power off every other hour or so, but it does it (brings studio temp down to 85-90F).

That is really beautiful.

Oh I am hoping the whole painting will come together today! Thank you.

this is coming along beautifully. I like the greens a great deal; do you think they'll figure as prominently in the end?

I guess when 85-90 is cooled down, you've gotta take what you can get.

I think the greens will stay. I've never much been into them, but green and greenspace is awfully precious here.

My plants aren't doing as well as earlier this year and a friend just explained at this point she waters TWICE a day. I was watering only every other day...

I really love this. And now I'm reminded that I want to go back to the other post that you made about it and see what people said.

I think I whined too much about my life and hijacked my own entry. Waa, waah.

Ha! I don't really see you as a whiner. But it's a complex task, trying to pull apart Otherness. All I came up with was, "Oh, wow! Intense!" Not very helpful.

I really like the painting, though. Especially the use of currency. I hope it's real and you are breaking the defacement of US currency law. That would make it even more radical!

:) Well, it is only a misdemeanor, and not enforced. I am trying to find out what the deal is about destroying money here in Pakistan, but so far no luck.

I've done three series with destroyed money... I have one piece online, bell hooks.

Oh, that is really excellent work. It made my skin crawl when I saw the first shot. Those artifacts are not so distant to me, the way time and space get all shoved up into one another.

Your artist's narrative is so strong, also.

And you're from Kentucky. Maybe some day if you have insomnia or are otherwise captive, you'll come and answer the question I asked the other day about urban/rural/suburban in my journal. Kentucky is complicated like Texas, I imagine. Or maybe it is more painfully straightforward, like Louisiana.

Thank you and will do. I don't have power a lot of the time, I miss things on livejournal!

Wow, your art is amazing, thanks for adding me.

Did you attend the UU Church in downtownd PDX when you went to Reed? I visited that one a few times in '06 and '07. It was the first UU Church I went to and I liked it a great deal.

Thank you.

I didn't really attend until after college. Was semi-regular at times. I left Portland in '97.

For heat-averse me, coming down to 85-90 would make painting in an A-shirt and panties do-able. :)

With low humidity in a proper cotton punjab suit, those temps are bliss. I don't even like to look at my American clothes any more, much less put them on my poor self. :)
